Brampton Island
If you are considering a holiday in the Whitsunday Islands, why not come and stay on Brampton Island. Brampton Island lies in the southern half of the Whitsunday Islands and is a national park. The island is famous for the beauty of its coastline and the superb Melaeleuca forests that grow in its interior. There are many beautiful bush walks throughout the interior and around its coastline and there are numerous bays, beaches and headlands that provide a scenic parorama. This means it is protected from the prevailing south easterly trade winds and the bay is lined by a beautiful white sandy beach. The island, as of mid 2010 has been recently purchased and the new owners have refurbished the accommodation. There are several ways to access the island. Firstly, the island has its own airstrip and you can fly in from either Mackay airport or from Hamilton Island airport. Ferry services arrive from Mackay marina on a regular basis for those who like to arrive by boat.


Brampton island has four different standards of accommodation and many have beautiful views over the bay and the islands. There are also a multitude of holiday activities and many of these have the necessary equipment supplied free of charge by the resort.On the beach, you will find sailing catamarans, paddle skis, snorkeling and fishing equipment and you can also hire jet skis or join in a circumnavigation of Brampton Island with a guide. There is also a magnificent swimming pool that is right on the beachfront if you don't want to swim in the ocean. The resort also has chip and put golf, tennis courts, archery and a beautiful day spa if you feel like being pampered.
Brampton Island has a superb restaurant and bar and usually has some specials or holiday packages on offer.
