Long Island
A holiday on Long Island in the magnificent Whitsunday Islands will give you a choice of three excellent resorts. Long Island isthe only one in the region that is home o more than one resort. It is located close to Shute harbour and is only a short ferry ride from the mainland to any of these resorts.
At the southern end of Long Island is the beautiful paradise bay eco resort. This is a very small and private place to stay where you get extremely personalised service. Numbers of guests is limited to a maximum of 16 and those lucky few will enjoy a personalised holiday experience that few have the privileged to experience. Beachfront cabins provide the accommodation and there is a great restaurant and beautiful tropical gardens. The resort has its own sailing catamaran which provides day excursions to different destinations in the Whitsundays.
Two bays further to the north is Long Island resort which is the largest resort on Long Island. This is a lower standard than the other two resorts on the island and is targeted at the average family holiday maker. kids are most welcome and everything is done to keep them entertained. There is a kids club and lots of cool kids activities. Most of the action centers around the water and there are great swimming pools and beach activities that include sailing catamarans, paddle skis, snorkeling and the like. The resort has an excellent family restaurant and lots of great beachfront accommodation. The resort has a great atmosphere as, like the others on the island, it is set in a coconut grove and everything is close to the beach.
A couple more bays further north is the most exclusive resort on Long Island. Peppers Palm Bay resort is a small five star resort that caters for the executive market that like their privacy and don't want to holiday in a busy resort. Everything is laid back and the service is wonderful. A fantastic restaurant keeps everyone happy and again the resort lines the beach and there are plenty of aquatic activities if you want to take part. The accommodation is in individual bures that are located under the coconut palms and right on the beach.The sunsets directly off your balcony, looking over the water towards the mainland and creates a romantic atmosphere.
No matter which of these three resorts takes your fancy, you will always remember your holiday on Long Island.
