The Queensland islands provide some of the finest holiday destinations in Australia. The Whitsunday Islands, lie off the central Queensland coastline and consist of an archipelago containing 74 continental islands. The group is a paradise for holiday makers. Firstly, the waterways contained in the Whitsunday islands are protected from prevailing winds and contain an endless number of bays, coves, beaches and headlands that have created one of the most beautiful sailing areas in the world. The islands in north Queensland provide a variety of sensational destinations. Two islands in this region cater extensively to the rich and famous who seek a resort with extra privacy and limited guest numbers. These two are Orpheus Island and Bedarra Island.
