Wilson Island
For a true Robinson Crusoe experience, come and stay on Wilson Island on Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Wilson Island is a special experience in anybodies language. It is operated by Heron Island resort and is accessed from Heron Island. Wilson Island is a small coral cay where you can stay in a luxury tent cabin and be one of only twelve guests allowed on the island at any one time. The island is a true part of the Great Barrier Reef itself and a haven for rare seabirds and nesting turtles. When you stay on Wilson island, you are really isolated in the middle of the most unique part of the Great Barrier Reef itself.

There are six designer tents scattered around the perimeter of the island, a long house where meals are serve3d and is also a relaxation center, and there is an amenities center with one designated shower for each tent. There are complimentary activities that include snorkeling equipment and glass bottom kayaks. Because of its isolated location and lack of surrounding illumination at nights, the island is the ideal place to watch the stars or enjoy a moonlit night on the beach with a fine wine. It is the ultimate honeymoon destination for those seeking a place away from the rest of the world.
The Wilson Island experience is not for everyone, however for those who find this type of holiday appealing, there is nothing like it any where else in the world.
